Use & Application
The T-Bend Tester is utilized by bending coated panels back on themselves at a 180-degree angle, with the coated surface positioned on the outside of the bend. Tests are conducted at progressively reduced radii of curvature, defined by spacers or mandrels. Post-bending, each panel undergoes meticulous examination using a magnifying glass to detect cracking and a tape pull-off test to assess adhesion loss. The smallest diameter at which a panel can be bent without cracking or adhesion loss determines the T-bend rating.
This tester complies with DIN EN ISO 17132, ASTM D4145, EN 13523-7 standards for paints and varnishes T-bend test folding methods, making it an invaluable tool for quality control in manufacturing and materials testing.
